Over Rated

Colton was a boy of big dreams. He saw a future filled with fighter jets, race cars, sword fighting, and adventures to save the world. He had two friends, Kelsey and Jacob, who he loved hanging out with. He was rarely ever seen without them. Colton and his friends had all sorts of crazy adventures together... they explored the woods, hunted for treasure, fought off pirates, and even one time saved their village from an evil emperor.
When the three friends turned eighteen years old, it was time for them to go out and learn a trade so that they could one day support a family. Kelsey was going to learn to be a teacher at Ark's Castle, Jacob was staying at home with his father and learning to take over the family buisness of wagon building, and Colton was traveling all they way to Biolaville to learn to be a lawyer. Colton still had the dreams of an adventurous life, but he felt that he had to go to Biolaville because that was what he was supposed to do. He was only slightly excited to start a new life all the way across the empire, but Colton was mostly sad to leave his two best friends. He couldn't help but think that maybe he was making a mistake.
When Colton arrived in Biolaville, he qickly made new friends. They hung out alot in the hotel that they all lived in while they were studying to become lawyers. Everyone was so excited to learn their trade... Everyone except Colton. Colton had fun hanging out but hated going to classes. He felt like he was the only one who was not overjoyed to be learning about laws and how to manipulate them. During class all he could do was think of his two best friends and wonder how they where doing. He remembered his dreams of flying planes, driving race cars, and saving the world. He had decided that in the eyes of his younger self, he had failed.
Colton was depressed for many days about his failure. He became anti-social, sleeping a lot, eating alone. One night while he lay in bed pondering his life, it hit him. He hadn't failed yet. He only had taken a couple of steps in the wrong direction; why not just back up? He immediatley jumped out of bed and started to work on his plan. He sold all of his law books and school supplies. He told his friends that he would be leaving and not to worry about him. With the money he had gotten from his school supplies he bought the one thing that he always wanted... A Nightster. It is the fastest motorcycle in the empire. The money from his supplies only covered half of the price of this motorcycle, but Colton used his stunning good looks and amazing persuasive ability to convince the seller to sell the incredible machine that would eventually save the world.
Colton wasted no time. He rode the motorcycle to its limits stopping only to eat and sleep. He had made it halfway across the empire in record time. He had seen rain, snow, and even a dust storm, but nothing could stop him. That is untill the notorious gang Los Diablos decided that they wanted Colton's Nightster. He hadn't slept in over twenty four hours and was starting to feel the fatigue when suddenly out of no where came ten ruthless brutes that surounded Colton and forced him to stop. He had heard about this group at many of the rest stops throught the empire. These men did what they wanted when they wanted and noone could stop them. The ten thugs drew their legendary swords and sourounded Colton. All Colton had to defend himself was his little knife. He drew his knife and prepared himself for battle. The road pirates laughed at him and his weak attempts to defend himself. Little did they know, Colton was the best knife fighter the world had ever seen. One of the thugs attacked Colton. Without even tensing up, Colton disarmed his attacker and knocked him out with one swift fist. Colton now didn't hesitate. He sprung at the gang slashing, blocking, thrusting, using his unequaled skill to take the notorious gang down one by one. All the gang was down, except for the leader. Colton came away from the battle with nothing but a couple of bruises and scratches. The leader's name was Malcolm. He had been watching his entire crew be dominated by the greatest swordsman he had ever seen.
Malcolm did not delay. He attacked without warning attempting to catch Colton off gaurd. Colton and Malcolm became locked in an epic battle that is rumored to be the most extraordinary duel that has ever been had in the empire. They battled for hours, neither able to get the upper hand. The battle came down to one thing, endurance. Malcolm was unable to keep up with Colton after the hours of exchanging blows. He began to lag behind, always defending and never able to get on the offensive. Colton finally gained the total advantage and with a quick flick of his wrist had both his and Malcolm's sword poking at the neck of the greatest road pirate to ever live. Colton decided that it was not his job to be an executioner, instead, he put two scars on Malcom's cheeks to remind him that he is no longer the ruler of the road. He then tied all of Los Diablos up and left them on the side of the road for the government to deal with later.
Colton continued on his journey. Rumors had spread all the way across the empire of Colton, the man who beat Los Diablos. When the storys reached his home town and Colton's parents, who still believed him to be at law school, they could not decide wether to be proud our furious with their youngest son. Both his older brothers had gone to law school and started familys, why does Colton have to be different?
Home was not Colton's first stop. Ark's Castle held the one person he loved more than all others, and although he never told a soul, he intened to make this beautiful girl his wife. Colton had no idea of what Kelsey would think of all of this. He had no money, or job. All he had was his dreams. When Colton finally made it to the castle, it was pouring rain. Once some of the people from the castle saw Colton, the news of his arrival spread through the place like a wildfire. Kelsey heard that Colton had come to Ark's Castle and nearly fainted. Though she had told no one, Colton was the love of her life and she couldn't stand being away from him. She ran as fast as she could to where Colton was. She saw him wandering around in the rain from about one hundred yards away. They made eye contact, and even through the distance everything that they had held secret for so long was yelled silently through the pouring rain. They both started running for eachother hardly believing that this was reality. When they reached eachother they embraced as though they never would let go. Kelsey's feet left the ground and she twirled around as Colton clinged to her with everything he had. Some witnesses of the greeting say that neither Colton's feet nor Kelsey's feet were touching the ground. Legend has it that they where so full of love that even gravity could not hold them back.

New Plan

I have decided that my life is not interesting enough to write about all the time.
In order to fix this problem, i will be writing stories instead. Hopefully i can take some of my real life experiences and turn them into awesome, action packed adventures that will hold your interest for a few minutes.

College... hmm...

I'm really excited to be goin to college. I was thinking a lot about everything that was going to change, and I'm pretty sure the good out weigh the bad. I will be leaving my nice comfy home to go out into the crazy world. I will be free in so many more ways. For the first time I will be in almost complete control of my life. I will miss all my friends/family, but I will meet new people. plus I'll be in california 45 minutes from the beach... an hour from the mountains... oh yea.

This might sound like a bad thing to be counting on, but the privilege I am looking forward to the most in college is that day when i wake up in the morning, not feeling emotionally fit for intense education, and I sit up for a second while thinking to myself, "what would i benefit more from: an extra three hours of sleep? or calculus?" The solution is obvious. I waste no more precious time thinking. I hurry up and fall back asleep as I silently thank God for the blessing of free will.

I will not abuse this awesome privilege. I don't think I will feel the need to miss too much classes. I am a film major. a lot of my classes will be dealing with movies and how to make them... sweet.

Relient K is coming out with a new album at the beginning of the summer. I cannot wait.

They recently got a new drummer so I'm interested to see if he changed up the style a little bit.

if i could meet any living person and hang out with them for a day, it would be Matt Thiessen from Relient K... just incase you were wondering.

First One Ever

I just got a new computer. its pretty sweet. notice i said "computer" and not "piece of crap hunk of metal", which immediately gives you the knowledge that i got a mac. macbook to be exact. white, and awesome.

Since i got a new mac i thought to myself "i need to do something new and exciting with this top of the line technology" so i decided to do to two things. the first adventure i undertook was to write/record a song about my macbook using garage band. mission was accomplished much more successfully than i ever could have hoped. my good friend Jonathan Bowman and i wrote then recorded the song live, bowman was vocals i was guitar and back up vocals. feel free to listen to it at www.connoregbert.com/macsong.mp3 if you wish.
My second adventure was to create a blog. I've always thought blogs were cool, i enjoy reading what interesting people are thinking about. however i never really thought i would make one. i don't find my self super interesting. i cant imagine anyone in this world being interested in what some punk kid not even out of prison (less than one month!) yet, has to say. i feel sorry that you are so bored that you decided to read this, i will try my best not to waist your brain space.

I feel i should give some background info on me since this is my first post. a little "about the author"
My name's Connor Egbert, I'm 18... i protect the souls of many-a-churchgoer working as a security guard at Crossroads Bible Church which i also attend. its the greatest job ever. I'm graduating prison soon and moving on to College at Biola University in LA majoring in film. I've been making movies for almost 5 years now. they all sucked until 2.5 years ago (sophomore year) when my two friends and i made a star wars movie. it still sucked, but it had light sabers... so it only half sucked. after that i was able to create some work that might just break into the decent range. all my stuff can be seen at www.connoregbert.com, if your bored. Within the past year i started to learn guitar... i love it. I'm not very good, but my new life goal is to start a band with my friends Zach Stoner and Jonathan Bowman. its going to happen some how. I'm going to be a rock star. speaking of bands, some vitally important information about me is that i am relient k's biggest fan. if i wrote a dictionary, the definition of greatness would be relient k. My best friend is Jonathan Bowman, we are kinda your stereotypical best friends. we've got the "if you mess with one of us you mess with both of us" thing goin. My other best friend is my girl friend. Keila Lorenc. she's awesome. we've been a 'thing' for 10 months and I've loved every minute of it. i can safely say she is the second greatest thing that happened in my life. only following behind Jesus saving my life from the pits of hell. these two people are no doubt God's greatest gift to me.

one question i believe everyone needs to answer is "if you had one super power what would it be?" mine is flight. i want to be able to fly, and fast. I'm talkin about breaking the speed of sound. this is one thing that i really hope happens in heaven.

To end it all off... a quote from one of the two Disney shows that were ever worth anything (Boy Meets World and Even Stevens)
"what's living if you never pull your shorts down and slide on the ice?"
- Louis Stevens
